When it first launched, Google TV was a mess. It didn’t work as well as it should have and sales were incredibly weak. Things are starting to turn around though, thanks to a series of updates to the platform. The latest update brings a bit of functionality to all of Sony’s Google TV products, but the big change comes to the Google TV Blu-ray player.

Tokyo, Jan 10, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - Sony Corporation (Sony) today announced the launch of Network Media Player "NSZ-GS7" and Blu-ray Disc Player "NSZ-GP9" powered by Google TV, starting with North America and Europe.
Sony announced a new portable Blu-ray player, although its 4.5 battery life is a half-hour less than that of 2011's model.
Sony's new Blu-ray player lineup will have a redesigned user interface and and built-in Wi-Fi on all of its models.
